  2. They need to create a generic version of suboxone so it can be less expensive.

  6. Also since suboxone is so expensive I plan on buying 1 weeks worth at a time. For those of you that dont know, you can go to the pharmacy and buy one a day if you really wanted to.. Here in Indiana I am paying about 7.60$ per pill..

  14. You did a great job on this video. I am also a recovering opiate addict and I owe my life to Suboxone. It both manages my pain and keeps a needle out of my arm. I started taking Suboxone over 5 months ago and haven’t relasped yet. This has been the best med for me. The only thing I don’t like about Suboxone is how it tastes, but it is worth suffering through. Thank you for your video I learned a lot and I am always trying to learn more.

  16. Suboxone:Partial Opiate Agonist
    Methadone:Full Opiate Agonist

Suboxone activates (half) the opiate recepters in the brain while Methadone being a full agonist activates all the recepters. Both have very high affinities. Suboxone has a ceiling effect which reduces abuse potential, unlike methadone. With Methadone Contrary to what some say, you can get very “high” off metha. and can continue upping the dose to achieve this effect. Studies show Suboxone gives a more structured path to sobriety

  18. Viewers: When I use the words “full opioid” and “partial opioid”, that is simply because this is a video for those who arent really educated about Suboxone or its use. A majority of people who hear the word “partial agonist” etc. really dont know what that is, so I make it a little easier. My statements ARE correct and are based on textbook facts in the addiction medicine field. I may use terms in an easier to understand manner because we’re not all smart-asses who nit-pik other peoples videos.

  20. Naloxone is also shown not to work when Suboxone is snorted. Very weak. You keep on looking to get me though, its amusing to me. These drugs are made for opiate maintenance and that is the point and that is where the similarity is. Methadone is Highly addictive and sadly these clinics are focused more about money than correct dosage and future sobriety goals. These clinics set out the bowls of dog food and the people come. I Know. Suboxone gives you a chance to actually get clean. Thanks though!

  22. I never said the chemical makeups of the two were identical. I said theyre similer in the usage and way they work in the brain. In ALL my videos I refer to these drugs as “full opiate agonists” and “Partial opiate agonists” and yes naloxone does barely have “bioavailablility” but It does close to NOTHING in terms of opiate blocking unless IV injected, which is what it is made for. Studies have shown that at times buprenorphine has even more affinity/opiate blocking powers than naloxone

  24. 2:27 – The structures of methadone and buprenorphine are unrelated. 2:46 – The words you’re looking for are full-agonist and partial-agonist. 7:15 – Naloxone does have slight bioavailablilty orally.

  26. Boy you never stop do you.. I am HELPING people buddy, trust me I know what Im talking about and would never state ANYTHING that wasnt a Physician Stated FACT. You dont know how many people Ive helped since putting these vids up. What hurts peoples health is when they CANT get the information they NEED on this medication, and end up STILL USING OPIATES. Ive been on Mehta. and Subox. and am good friends with 3 Addiction Physicians so I do know what Im saying and AM helping. Go bug someone else-

  32. Cool Video man…I have been on Suboxone a little over 6 months and my life has never been better…I still go to an AA meeting once a day but that’s what works for me…I’m in Ohio too, about an hour north of C-Bus and only pay $105 a month for my script and the office visit..THANK GOD!!!

  34. Great treatment!! Miraculous help. It has done for me what 4 rehabs, 20 mos. of incarceration, 10 mos. BMP, and years of trying to kick with alcohol, methadone, benzos and weed NEVER DID. I can go to groups, attend meetings and live out my days withdrawal free and fully aware. I have energy and ambition and a clarity of thought that I haven’t had the priviledge of knowing for years. And it’s hilarious to remember my disbelief the first day I used it. It works.

  44. I agree Suboxone is def a miracle pill.. Anything is possible if ya want it bad enough

  45. rac189 on Fri, 29th May 2009 7:03 am
  46. How many mg’s do you that are on suboxone usually take? I was prescribed 8mg pills but the doc said I may be able to take 4mg a day and be fine. Keep in mind though, I’m used to snorting 3 80mg Oxycontins a day. I’m sure I’ll probably have to start out taking the full 8mg’s but do you think I can wean myself down to 4 as time goes on? Thanks for your help.

  48. 5-600 For suboxone is way better than 100 a day for dope… I am blessed… my addiction specialist is covered with a 15 dollar copay and my suboxone is only 70 a month after insurance. You are doing a good thing man… Suboxone saved my life. I had a dangerous iv opiate addiction and since august, have been a whole new person.
