I agree with him that the torture photos should not be released. We all know what happened. He is working on getting some stoppage, but if the photos went out, it would indeed endanger our troops and no one wants that whether they agree with the war or not. I think he did the right thing about the photos and will continue to do the right thing about the torture movement from this day forward.

No,you are not one of the people. I dont want people to only praise Obama,but I see only negativity by many of my former friends and co-horts on here and it disturbs me. It disturbs me to see the truth movement lose steam because everyone seems to believe every single politician is “NWO,Illuminati,CFR,Bilderberg or whatever name you wanna call it”and evil to the core. I just think he is one helluva lot better than Bush and for that I am relieved and happy. Is he my ideal candidate? Hell no.

I agree that we need to push Obama and hold him responsible,I was very,very disturbed and angry when he did an about face on the pictures and I made it clear in many video comments on the subject. I just worry that all the anti-Obama rhetoric without acknowledging some of the good…will only push the GOP right back into power in 2012..and ugh…

Exactly,I fully expect people to let fly with criticism of Obama when he screws up,like he did with his back pedaling with the detainee torture photos,and I said so in many comments. However,I think the constant negativity by many without acknowledging the good moves(that would have never been made under a GOP leadership)as well….will only help the right wing to slip right back into power and a lot sooner than anyone would think is possible.

Well,I respect your opinion,but it is the same type of opinion that I hear over and over. Just because I believe Obama is a major improvement over Bush or any GOP president and think that we are much better off with a moderate democrat than a far right republicunt. I understand the frustration that we are not as free as we should and I totally agree,however,until enough people are willing to DIE to fight for those freedoms and rights,then there will be no total freedom. I agree my friend. I am about as far left as you can get and I dont like that Obama has cowtowed to the right on a few issues and backed down a couple of times,however,it is so refreshing not to have someone in office who is totally obsessed with taking our civil liberties and bankrupting the country. At least I think he makes MOST decisions by doing what he really thinks his best. Yes,no president will ever be allowed to be far left..maybe the 60′s but not anymore.

Great to hear from you again, Hugh, even though I suppose I’m one of the people you’re talking about (though I DID do a vid praising Obama for changes he suggested making to the tax code).

All I can say is I’m trying really hard to be no more or less fair to Obama than to Bush or any other president.

I know we disagree on things now, Hugh, but this does not mean that I do not respect your opinion. I just believe, that Obama needs a very strong push from below, and if he moves too far center, which he has, he will not be able to keep even 1/4 of his campaign promises. And what happens then? The GOP will be back in power in 2012. We have the same goals, my friend. Just different approaches, on how to make things happen. Obama is not Hitler + it’s ludicrous for anyone to suggest this.
