  2. If it was a poison, do you think the FDA, and DEA would allow it? and pharacies would sell it? LOL. Yes, it can kill, but EVERY medicine that exists can kill in the right doses. pull your heads out of your asses. If you do not need methadone, FINE, but leave it the FUCK alone for those that it helps! EDUCATE yourselves! Methadone saves lives, recuces HIV and other STDs, and CRIME!

  4. I couldn’t agree with you more( quid pro quo) substituting one drug for another. not only is it poison , it’s just a legal way to sell drugs, some of these clinics can be worst than the dealers in the street, if you don’t pay you don’t get your dose. these clinics want opiate addicts to stay hooked on the shit, how else are they gonna make a living( off the misfortunes of drug addicts) these clinics are drug dealers

  6. O.K. maybe more than a few days. the withdrawals reaches it’s peek in 72hrs. then it will taper off. 7 days at the most. I wouldn’t hardly compare methadone to insulin, you don’t need methadone to stay alive. I’ve been a heroin addict for 14 years, been on methadone several times. To say you need it , you’re not stable at all ,especially mentally. you’re spiritual sick. five years ! what kind of clinic are you in. they should’ve winged you off by now. they want you to stay on it

  8. A few days??? Are you serious?
I take this VERY seriously as I’ve been on methadone now for just over five years. Just like a person needs insulin for diabetes, I need methadone for my opiate addiction. Just like diabetes is real, my addiction is a real. I’ve been stable for years now at the same dosage.
“a little discomfort for a few days”, wow, I don’t even know where to start. If it were only that easy. Its not just the weeks and weeks of physical, but mental withdrawal as well.

  10. why am i so aggressive? you think this shit is a game, you apparently have no idea what methadone does. You can’t take a little discomfort for a few days, you have to sub one drug for another. YOU’RE a true junkie who’s not ready to be totally abstinent from drugs. Cold turkey is the only way , don’t prolong the situation, man up

  14. Been in Florida my entire life. Port St. Lucie for 26 years, and 2 years now in Belleview-Ocala. They’ve had very little problem with my dosage. According to a nurse I asked about one month ago at my current Ocala clinic, the average dose for people who’ve been there for at least six months is 120mgs. I hate hearing about a ‘maximum’. Everybody has a different metabolism concerning methadone.

  18. Methadone can be a lifesaver. I wouldn’t recommend it as the first course of treatment. If one is a chronic relapser, unable to get “sober”, it is better than continuing on with dangerous and illegal behavior. It should only be available at methadone clinics.

  20. PHD eh?! Methadone is a vile poison and virtually impossible to kick for the majority of people, the drug treatments of this Ilk are self perpetuating cottage Industries that break the Hippocratic oath of doing no harm….
Myself…..oh well I was on 90 ml to 0ml of Methadone via Ibogaine, 5 weeks ago, NO withdraws at all!
I rest my case for it as a tangible modality folks..

  24. TO ALL SEEKING HELP WITH ADDICTION: You need to look into treatment with a drug called Ibogaine. Ibogaine is an addiction interruptor, not a maintenance drug like methadone or suboxone. Ibogaine will stop your withdrawal, elevate your mood, and stop cravings. I have Ibogaine videos faved on my chanel. It is not legal in the U.S., but there are clinics in Mexico. Two I know of are 1. Dream House 2. Villa Serena. Good luck to all!!

  26. I injured myself in Nov. 05, and was on oxy for some time. Then, I was put on Methadone. I don’t like either, but at least on the methadone I can function, and mostly remember things. On oxycontin I went through many days at a time that I don’t remember. I thought the oxy did better pain control, but am told the pain was still there I just don’t remember it. And yes, there is a stigma attached to taking any drug, even if legally prescribed. I would like to be drug free.

  28. Methadone treatment, I think, is the wrong way to go. I overcame DXM, Klonopin, and Seroquel addiction cold turkey. Of course they have no relation to heroin. I’ve seen heroin addicts on methadone treatment… the chances are slim, they just really are… we have to keep heroin addicts in in-patient rehabs, it’s the only way and all you heroin addicts agree with me deep inside; only if you truly believe you wish to quit.

  30. i’m thankful for educated people like this lady here spreading the word and educating people

i’ve been on methadone for a little over two years and yes, there’s still stigma and ignorance associated with the drug, so people like this lady here are good to have on our side

  32. The biggest problem with choosing MMT is not going to the clinic everyday, the problem is that it is a LETHAL DRUG!! My son went to a licensed, professional clinic and died on Day 5 from methadone toxicity even though he had complained of adverse effects every single day. He had a clean toxicology report . Observe someone on methadone leading a “functional” life — they are lethargic to the point of risking other people’s lives. Methadone is NOT the answer for anyone for any reason!!

  35. Suboxone vs Methadone on Fri, 24th Jul 2009 8:02 pm
  36. Methadone can be a blessing or a curse. It can be the first step in a drug free life but most of the time, it doesn’t work like that. Most go on doses too high and are over sedated or take other drugs.

  46. First off, learn proper English. “Because” NOT “becous” , “You’re a junky” NOT “your a junky”. Also learn more about methadone before confusing methadone maintenance and methadone for pain. Try checking out the “We Speak Methadone” forum.

  50. MMTWorks4me too. It has been working for 28 years now. I’m alive, healthy, law-abiding and not in prison. I have no desire to try suboxone, even if I ever did get down to 50 mg. As the old saying goes, “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.”
