Methadone is a lot harder to get off than heroin, the withdrawals from heroin is like having a cold compared to the withdrawals from methadone, the reason the statistics is higher for people getting of methadone than heroin is because most people who get a methadone script get it to get rid of theyre addiction so obviously they’re more likely to quit, and also these statistics are pointless since only the regestered and known addicts yes people who use methadone would be included in such figures

    14. I must say i’m suprissed. I always kept wondering how does Iran gets away from drug problems having in mind closnest to Afganistan.. In regimes like this one radical islamic..this is i think the only way to escape from reality full of contrasts. U cannot find a girl or hang around with, u cannot find job, u cannot express that u disagree regime…This is only way up..cheap one. But I hail president and his move.If he would make more moves impacting everyday life and put islam away a little bit..

    16. you really do not know any thing about methadone do you? Becasue those guys on methadone do not look like zombies to me. They seem quite alert and helpful to the other addicts….. The characteristics of methadone are much different than the one for heroin. It is use as medication in most treatment for heroin addiction and has been more research than any treatment for druga and alcohol put together. You realy do not know.

IRANstyle82: Afghanistan has had bumper crop of poppies for the last 10+ years(after the soviets),even before the war c America, when the Taliban were runing the country.Iran has been having this heroin problem for a lot longer time,before the Afghan War.Check the Afghan statistics,they have to sell the heroin to someone.Pakistan also being having bumper crops.This is an old problem in Iran, is not new.What is new is the solution.
