udate progress weanOFFSuboxone
Progress report – my second week of weaning off suboxone. Get off opiates. Don’t abuse suboxone. Suboxone was developed to help with withdrawal symptoms during your recovery. Recovery is not a 1,2,3,4 year process. It should take 3-9 months MAX. In my opinion. I have done countless hours of research, talked to several doctors and have come up with this WEAN off conclusion. I hope this encourages you to start the all important wean off stage in the battle to sobriety . …

GREAT VIDEO! You’re the man. You just changed my entire outlook. I started subs two days ago and my doc told me he thought it might be a good idea for me to stay on them FOREVER. I had gone to see him to get off Kratom … and now he wants me on subs FOREVER?? Bullshit. I am following the taper/wean that they set on the Suboxone website… will be done with it August 1, 2009. THANK YOU.
you guys are idiots. Subs is not anything compared to any other withdrawals. It doesnt have any. Stop trying to scare people from taking subs. It works! you use it for 3 months and you dont ever have to go back to pain killers or subs again.
its not made for long term use
use subs for 3 months
and be happy
it was a PIECE OF CAKE quitting the subs
its all MENTAL!!!!
yo man its alex i gotta tlk to u got a couple questions i sent u my email on youttube holla back
HEY WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT SHIT! You are fucking smoking a cigarette I was feeling so good by watching this but when I saw that bull I fucking flipped. HYPOCRITE!
I thank you so much for these videos. Its good to know that there is someone else out there who is going through this too, and who is serious about it. You’re one of the few addicts I can relate to because you say it as it is – the truth! Keep it up, your videos really help me.
Sorry but “power through withdrawls” is idiotic since there is no such thing for junkies.Don’t try beating a physiological change in brain chemistry with will power because IT DoES NoT Work.I get what he said I just do not agree with that part .
Awesome speech man that is an inspiration for me. I’ve been on 3 8mgs a day for almost a year. Just living off of it. I need to sober up man, slap this stupid dream world shit out of my body. Great job.
I am also in the prosess of weaning myself off mathadone. I thought about doing the 10 mgs of meth, every outher day because the real bad stuff dont set in until day 2 or3. It really helps knowing that ur not alone in this fight . Noone is going to help us kick this stuff but us. One of my biggest problems, i am 1 of the thousands that just got laid off work 2 weeks ago so i am going a little stir crazy with nothing to keep me busy. But at the same time I can use that to my advatage.
I’m so proud of you! Not only that you are quitting but also that youre understanding that quitting is hard. If it wasn’t people wouldnt constantly complain about lack of success. Remember the withdrawls educate you on just how screwed up your body and brain have become. It’s like an education. Maybe a daily journal with doses and physical symptoms would help you be able to track your journey and successes better. I’m just glad it seems like you are getting back in charge of your life. -Shen
No problem man. anytime.
cool thanks for taking the time to answer man.really appreciate it good luck !
I think you are probably right. Cold turkey can be done, but it takes sacrificing a lot of time. If you can afford to be tired for 30+ days from lack of sleep then go for it. If not, taking subs even if its just a couple hours before bed, is very helpful. If you have gone 6 days cold turkey and are able to function I would think just 1-2 mg’s per night might work for you. Then start tapering slowly until you are able to sleep without them.
i just stopped opiates like 6 or 7 days ago and i didnt even think about it cuz i hadnt given myself the chance to withdraw for a couple years.but after last night my 6th night with maybe 2.5 hours of sleep i decided to check it out and there it was insomnia from opiate withdrawal.
.anyway ive been cold turkey i just wanna sleep and not need anything even the subs. but i read that the insomnia can last weeks or months and im barely funtioning as is.i think the cold turkey is more harm than good
I agree, It could of been alot worse. AND you actually feel bad about it. That’s a good sign
. I have done the same thing in the past. Nobody is perfect my man. Keep up the good work though. Don’t allow yourself to justify taking more then you need if you can. Please keep in touch with us with your progress. Thanks.
I hear ya, If your doc wants to move you off of meth and on to subs I think that would be in your best interest. I once was in your same place. Needing 15 mgs to make it through my day. When I went to subs I only needed 6*8 mgs per day. Subs are stronger then meth, in my opinion. So if your doc tells you to take 16 mgs per day DON’T, try 8 first. Good luck man, please keep in touch
I agree! Good work on your weaning off. Thanks for the comment. Keep in touch please and update us on your progress. Take care!
but going into those w/d are hell and it takes a very long time for the suboxone to start working its horrible, you can take subs like every other day my doc has me on 16 i tapered down to 4 and do fine i still get the 16mg a day in case i need it down the road (hopefully not) but i do take 8mg sometimes and i was eating 50-75mcg fentanyl patches and those are 80x stronger than heroin so imagine my tolerance. but dont wait to w/d takeeven 1mg and youll be good and doingstuff will bring back shit
you’re definitely going about it the right way man. im weaning of methadone cause of oxy. down to 15 mg a day. been on methadone for a year and im just sick of it. just had to start coming down. ive had no problems coming down, and my doc wants to put me on suboxone now. that just tells me he does not have my best interst in hand.
ive told him right off the bat,i dont want to be on this shit for life. bottom line is the clinic does make a profit. youre also right about gettin off yer ass.
I had a horrible day….I am being fined 100$ for going over on my ATM card..even tho I really didn’t…and I just hate work…so I took 3/4 of a sub and I am pissed at myself…but hey atleast I didnt truly relapse
I hear ya man, all people are different. You never know though. Don’t count out quitting one day. You seem like a smart strong man, I’m sure eventually you will be ready. Don’t give up bro, and keep in touch. Peace
Hey man, nice video! I do agree that with even Suboxone or any opiate you shouldnt have to be on it forever. As you know ive been on it over 2 years, but some people like me who have dtoxed and were clean for months and constantly relapsed will probably need it just to stay clean forever you know, it sucks to have that strong an addiction. Ive tried with rehabs/detox for years and put my all into it.. some are just powerless and will always be that way, the opiates are too damn powerful..
Hell yeah! That’s what I’m talking about! Congrats brother! Keep it going, you da man. Mexico here we come
Good shit homie. I’ve only been on subs for 5 days and I’m taking 12 mgs/day. I figure I will do that for about a month and see how I feel, If all goes well, than i will start to ween off. How much were you taking at the start of your treatment?
you are absolutely right…there is no point to just BE ON suboxone forever. It should be used as a tool to get to sobriety. I can tell you firsthand that it is easier to go from Subs to Sober than Heroin to Sober.and remember the Pain of withdrawl is healing disguised.
I am down to a quarter of an 8 mg every other day…I know soon I will go without it
completely..See you in Mexico brother
