high doses of methadone will give you the WORST constipation. I had to use suppositories. You think methadone pills are bad, the liquid seemed a lot worse to me!! My advice plenty of fiber and some exercise if you are able to!!

The doc said medicare would only cover Lyrica of Noretryptaline failed, but I’m on that and Gabapentin (Neurontin) which does REALLY help for the pain… I’ve been able to switch to half the 5mg methadone pill in the morning, but that fire of neuropathic creeps in around dinner. I asked my doc to just severe the spinal cord cleanly, but he said no one would do that–I have a friend who was shot through the spinal cord and feels no pain, what do you think about severing the cord completely?

Ah yes, the bowel programme, one of the spinal injury greats! Me and my ass never had such a good relationship!!! Neuropathic pain, however, feels like the most intense burning sunburn. although heroin is great 4 pain, unless u know someone who has a constant supply, etc., it’s too sketchy to try & score all the time. At least w/ methadone, you know you have a constant source (DR), it’s “clean”, legal,it’s got a much longer 1/2 life & you don’t need increasing amounts.
If someone suffers from chronic pain, a drug like methadone makes ALL the difference in the world. The diff. between wanting 2 kill urself/stay in bed vs getting out of bed & living life as best as possible.

If you pay attention to the video, he says he takes the methadone for chronic pain. Chronic pain is almost a given if someone has a spinal cord injury. It’s awful and constant. Methadone is long lasting, so it’s one of the best things for long term txt of chronic pain. Methadone has negative hype because ignorant people think only heroin addicts use it & nothing could be further from the Truth. Thank the Powers that Be for Methadone!!!
