Falling prey to adults with social pressure to fit into new classes, new jobs and new neighborhoods. Teenagers struggling pressure around the eyes to alcohol to sex to drugs. In fact, crystal methamphetamine is becoming a way for teens to fight the pressure that comes with the need to be thin and attractive. Adolescents may also fall prey to the rebellious attitude they need to do anything their parents or those in authority say they are bad. Another cause of drug addiction are using drugs to mask mental problems. Depressed people often used drugs to escape their sad feelings. The schizophrenic is that some street drugs can control their hallucinations. Denial and concealment of the problem just leads to more long-term problems. Some people want to feel good physically and emotionally. Drugs are sometimes substitute for a healthy experience of life. The person in pain want to numb the pain. The drugs numb the pain for a moment and they don 't feel as bad. For a short while, the drugs and eliminate them feel "better." Furthermore, the factors of access, environmental and cultural factors play a role in who starts or continues to abuse drugs
